CLASSIFICATION/ SHOW RULES

ABOUT OUR CAR SHOW CATEGORIES & CLASSES
In order to recognize the popularity of the New Beetle, we will offer awards in the general categories following, with Stock, Modified Stock, Modified and Custom classes. If the number of vehicles registered to a particular class warrants, the judges may at their option expand the awards and divide that class into a "Show Option”. We do appreciate your participation and wish to award all deserving vehicles in a fair, consistent manner.

The judging team reserves the right to revise the rules and classification/modifications List at any time and will be done only by the judging team and approved by the chief judge.

Classification protests must be made to the judging staff prior to the start of judging and approved by the chief judge. Protests entered after the start of judging will not be considered.

New Beetle Check-In will work as follows:

1) Cars stop at the staging area where classification team is positioned. Car is inspected and class is determined.

2) The classification team has a supply of classification check-in sheets. The classification team records the class on the sheet, along with the license plate number of the vehicle. The head of the classing team (Scott) initials by the assigned class and hands the judging sheet to the driver of the car.

3) The car proceeds into the show and is parked.

4) The driver then brings the classification sheet to the registration table where a registration form is completed and entered into a computer, or preregistration information is verfied electronically. The registration official (Tyler or member of TNBRU Team) will initial the classification sheet to verify that the appropriate entry fee has been paid.

5) An entry number will be assigned to each car based on the class indicated on the judging sheet. Tentatively:
Stock 100-199
Modified Stock 200-299
Modified 300-399
Custom 400-499

5) Hopefully, a window card will be automatically generated by the computer (this is contingent on me securing a printer for use at the show). If not, the window card will be completed by hand.

6) The driver is free to return to their car with a window card and goodie bag. The goodie bag will contain a participant judging sheet and rules sheet that is used to obtain a participant judging ballot. The window cards are to be displayed on the car at all times. A door prize ticket will also be given to each driver at registration (and not pre-loaded into the goodie bags, we learned from that mistake of last year).

7) At 11AM the judging panel will begin judging. Judging sheets will be picked up from each respective car and the scores recorded on the sheet. Only cars with judging sheets bearing the initials of the classification and registration official will be scored. Periodically, completed sheets will be returned to Tyler for tabulation.

8) Also at 11AM, participants will be able to come to the registration table and obtain a voting ballot with the slip included in the goodie bag. Only one ballot will be distributed to each registered and paid entry in the show. These ballots must be returned by 12 noon for tabulation.
