Q: Where can I get information on being a sponsor or a vendor?
A: We welcome enthusiastic parties to join us in presenting this annual event. Please see the Vendor and Sponsors page and click on the icon for "How to Get Involved" located under the TNBRU icon to the right of the page for options on getting in touch with Texas New Beetle Round-Up and learning of the different opportunities that exist.
Q: Can I sell items at the TNBRU?
A: Only if you are a Vendor . Vendors pay a fee to sell their goods or services the day of the show. To be fair to all that sign up as Vendors only those who pay the vendor fee will be allowed to sell goods the day of the show. Since this is a charity event the fees go directly to the charity.
Q: When and Where is the 2007 event?
A: October 5-7th , 2007 over the three day weekend. The main car show will be on Saturday April 6th, 2007. The event is at the PDI department of Metro Volkswagen in Irving, Texas. Please see the Event Info page for a map and directions.
Q:
When do I show up that day?
A: If you are entering your car in the show, you need to arrive between 10AM and 12PM for car show setup. If you arrive after 12PM, you will not be able to enter your car in the show, even if you are pre-registered.
If you are a spectator coming to see the event, come anytime after 10AM when the public gates open to see all of the cars, and visit with all of the vendors/sponsors at their booths.
Q:
What is TNBRU and how did it start?
A: The Texas New Beetle Roundup is an annual event starting in 2003, and growing to be the largest New Beetle only show in the Southwest.
Q: Where can I find information or pictures on the past events?
A: You can find all historical information, including pictures, results and assorted media coverage on the 2003 Show Results Website, 2004 Show Results Page, 2005 Show Results Page, 2006 Show Results Page.

What, or who, is the DFW New Beetle Club?
A: The DFW New Beetle Club was founded as an informal club for all enthusiasts of the New Beetle. Membership is free to all New Beetle owners. Events include cruises, monthly meetings, group buys, and mod days. Click here to see the Club's Website or Club Forums.
Q: What, or who, is the Texas New Beetle Roundup?
A: The Texas New Beetle Roundup is a non profit show for new beetles only. Our goal is to generate and continue interest in the Volkswagen New Beetle and come together for a common purpose while at the same time helping out a local charity with the proceeds of the show.
Q: Where can I get banners to put on my site to help promote the 2006 event?
A: We welcome enthusiasts and web site owners to utilize our branded web banner ads. A link will be added soon to provide you with the needed icons.
JUDGING AND CLASSIFICATION
Q. At what point do stickers become "vinyl body graphics" for ten points?
A. Sponsor "stickers" are there to promote car sponsors and should be less than 12" in length. Vinyl graphics would be any graphic shape or images that would normally be painted on, such as flames, scallops, checkers, racing stripes etc. These graphics set a theme for the car and would be considered 10 points placing the car into the MODIFIED class.
Q.
I place large magnetic graphics on my car for show purposes. Are these considered
as"body graphics" for 10 modification points or are they considered
to be part of a display?
A. A magnetic graphic, or any graphic shape or images that would normally be painted on, such as flames, scallops, checkers, racing stripes etc. These graphics set a theme for the car and would be considered 10 points placing the car into the MODIFIED class.
Q. I purchased my car new from the dealer and it came with a wing and a non-stock VW performance exhaust already installed. Do these items count for modification points?
A. Yes. Any modification to the vehicle, such as wings, wind deflectors, etc. Either applied by the dealer or not will be considered when classifying the vehicle for show.
Q. I have several Neuspeed billet caps and a billet dipstick handle in my engine compartment. Does each cap count for one point or is it one point for the entire set?
A. Either one cap or a whole set will be considered as one point toward classification. If additional items such as a painted engine cover, etc. are present, the engine cover will be considered as a point as well.
Example: An engine compartment with a billit caps set, a painted engine cover, and colored wire harnesses; would be given three classification points for that area of the car.
Q. I have converted to the "Euro look" with clear corner markers and clear front turn signals. Are these items considered to be a set for one point or does this count as two modification points?
A. Two clear markers alone in front or two clear markers alone in the rear, or a set of four front and rear, will be considered as one classification point.
Q. I have converted to the "Euro look" with clear corner markers, clear front turn signals and taillights with clear turn signals. Are these items considered to be a set for one point or does this count as two or three modification points?
A. The addition of tail lights to a corner set will be considered an additional classification point.
Example: Clear corners, and alteza rear lights will be considered as two classification points.
Q. Does a chip or ECU tuning count as a modification point?
A. Non-visible items such as an ECU upgrade, will not be considered for classification. Any thing visible and modified for show will be considered for classification points.
Q. I removed my snowbox. Is this a modification point?
A. Non-visible items such as snow box removal, will not be considered for classification. Any thing visible and modified for show will be considered for classification points.
Q. I have installed an engine performance part that is not clearly visible under car show conditions. Does this count as a modification point?
A. Non-visible items, will not be considered for classification. Any thing visible and modified for show will be considered for classification points.
Q. I have made suspension modifications that are not readily visible and do not change the height of the car. Do these count as a modifications?
A. The vehicle will be inspected underneath for items such as a sway bar. If the sway bar will be displayed as part of the show it will be considered for classification. Any thing visible and modified for show will be considered for classification points.
Q. I installed a sunroof wind deflector and side window wind deflectors as a set and you have them listed separately. Do the three items count as one point or two?
A. Wind deflectors either on the side, or on the sunroof, or together as a set will be considered as one classification point.
Q. I have the GE lexan bubble fog light covers in amber instead of clear. Your list states that colored or painted foglight covers are considered as a modification. Do the amber covers count?
A. Amber covers are colored and will be considered for classification.
Q. I converted my car to Euro emblems on front and rear. Does this count as one modification point or two?
A. Euro emblems either on the front, or on the rear, or together as a set will be considered as one classification point.
Q.
I have painted various parts of my dash and interior (grab handles etc.) in the
exterior body color. Is all of the paint covered under one modification point
or will I be assessed several points for the various items that have been painted?
A. Painted interior parts that are stock items that came on the car and are painted to match the exterior will be considered as one classification point.
NOTE: If the interior has a custom paint job on the interior, it will be considered "CUSTOM" classification.
